OvS: A Gallery in the Workplace

A few weeks ago, OvS bid goodbye to a beloved companion that has lit up our main studio for over twenty years…Robert Rauschenberg’s Sling Shots Lit #6.

It will now be gracing the University of Michigan’s museum, as OvS Founding Principal Jim van Sweden donated the work to his alma mater upon his death. A crew from Bonsai Fine Arts carefully packed and crated the layered work.

In its place, a 1995 Sam Gilliam Red/Gold Doors has been installed. We are all enjoying the burst of color and dynamism that this multifaceted work brings to our studio. Artwork of all forms has always been a source of inspiration for OvS, as demonstrated in our book, The Artful Garden: Creative Inspiration for Landscape Design.

OvS is pleased to keep alive Jim’s tradition of making the office and studios a living gallery for art.
