Annapolis Yacht Club
Annapolis, MD

The additions to the Annapolis Yacht Club are centered around the Activity Center and Sailing Center, the two newest programmatic components of the long-established and club, which was founded in 1886. The centerpiece of the 100,000 SF Family Activity Center is the pool, whose sinuous, oyster-like shape is surrounded by sunlit and shaded areas for pool users. The surrounding gardens provide seasonal summer interest and function as bioretention areas that capture and cleanse rainwater. A fire element tempers the breezes that come off the Severn River and Chesapeake Bay.

The Activity Center offers outdoor access for families to enjoy recreational activities that cater to members of all ages. Terraces frame pristine views of the adjacent Spa Creek, downtown Annapolis, and the ubiquitous vessels that populate Annapolis’ waterways.
