AIA Award for Intelligence Community Campus

The American Society of Architects of the Potomac Valley awarded OvS an Excellence in Design Award for its contribution to the Army Corps of Engineers’ redevelopment of the Intelligence Community Campus in Bethesda, Maryland.

Together with architect Leo A. Daly, OvS developed a Landscape Master Plan for the federal government’s Intelligence Community Campus that is environmentally sensitive and promotes a health-minded workforce. Site features maximize energy and water conservation while architecture efficiently reuses existing buildings. The Master Plan gives special consideration to the property’s location adjacent to the Potomac River and adjoining forestland. OvS’ scope of work for the 40 acre site included development of a circulatory system, security features, walkways, and terraces as well as multiple planting areas. A rain garden provides a system of stormwater management and riverfront meadows to help the site fit within to the regional context.
