2019 Barracks Row Garden Party

On Wednesday, OvS attended Barracks Row Main Street’s (BRMS) Garden Party, the non-profit’s annual fundraising event on Capitol Hill. So-named because of its proximity to the Marine Barracks and Commandant’s residence, BRMS’ mission is focused on the revitalization of 8th Street SE and the surrounding area. Barracks Row is also home to OvS’ studios. To say their cause is one that hits close to home is an understatement.

As in previous years, the event was held at the Victorian home, The Deer House on East Capitol Street. Local chefs and restaurateurs came together to display a wide range of foods – both sweet and savory – along with summer libations.

The Garden Party brings together the Capitol Hill community to celebrate the continuing development and growth of the neighborhood. The party is an opportunity to meet neighbors, network, and learn more about what’s happening in the vibrant Barracks Row community.
