Whether it’s a ten-foot-square city terrace or a ten-acre expanse, OvS consistently applies the principles of design for which the firm has garnered acclaim: the intelligent use of positive and negative space, of form and scale, of light and shadow, of rough and smooth textures. Our approach is grounded in the year-round qualities of the natural environment and is driven by a deep understanding of natural science. OvS selects plants that require less maintenance, no pesticides and only limited water and fertilizer. These plants welcome change seasonally and, as they mature, botanically. OvS designs gardens that are relaxed...less like a formula and more sympathetic to the environment.
