New American Garden Lands at UVA

The New American Garden: The Landscape Architecture of Oehme, van Sweden, is now open at the Elmaleh Gallery, Campbell Hall, School of Architecture at University of Virginia.

The traveling photographic exhibition chronicles the careers and influence of the firm’s founding partners, Wolfgang Oehme and James van Sweden.

Curated by The Cultural Landscape Foundation, the exhibition is presented by Elmaleh Gallery, Campbell Hall, School of Architecture at UVA. Prior to Charlottesville, VA, the exhibition has been on view in Roslyn Harbor, NY, Baltimore, MD, Baton Rouge, LA, Pittsburgh, PA, and Washington, DC.

OvS Principal Eric Groft will speak on November 9 at 5:30 at the University. Groft will briefly speak about how Oehme and van Sweden revolutionized landscape architecture with their horticulturally exuberant designs and how their philosophy translates to the firm’s current work.

The exhibit will be on display through November 21, 2017.
