The New American Garden: The Landscape Architecture of Oehme, van Sweden Now on Display in Pittsburgh

The New American Garden: The Landscape of Oehme, van Sweden, the exhibition curated by The Cultural Landscape Foundation, is on display at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust (PCT) now through August 26, 2016. The exhibition is sponsored by the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy (PPC).

Featuring 52 photographs of residential, civic, and commercial projects, the exhibition coincides with the 25th anniversary of Bold Romantic Gardens: The New World Landscapes of Oehme and van Sweden, a widely influential book Oehme and van Sweden wrote with Susan Rademacher, chronicling 21 projects that introduced the world to their horticulturally exuberant designs.

OvS Principal Eric Groft attended the opening of the exhibition, where he visited with Susan, who is currently the parks curator at PPC.

PCT has helped to transform a section of downtown Pittsburgh into a world-class cultural district that stands as a national model of urban revitalization through the arts. In addition to gallery exhibitions, PTC events include theatre, contemporary dance, family events, education and community engagement programs.
